    Cobus began his journey into CrossFit in 2010 after watching the CrossFit Games on ESPN. With his background in mechanical engineering, human movement mechanics became an interest and after being enrolled into the Coaches development program at CrossFit Jozi, he really started to understand and appreciate the body in motion.

    Cobus loves the fact that CrossFit gives anyone the opportunity to move and to become fit, as a coach he finds it enormously fulfilling helping athletes reach their goals and seeing the change that they go through, physically and mentally.

    Cobus is never seen training or coaching without long socks, he believes everybody should wear long socks, “they accentuate the calf muscles whilst protecting your shins, more bang for your buck!”

  • Lynda McCabe

    • BTech degree in Somatology from Tshwane University of Technology (former Pretoria Technicon)
    • CrossFit Level 1
    • Certifications in various massage techniques

    Lynda’s journey into CrossFit was as in part, thanks to her husband Cobus. She has always enjoyed being active so when Cobus wanted to tryout, she tagged along. She loved it from day one. Lynda became part of the CrossFit Jozi coaches development program in early 2013 and now as an athlete and assistant coach, her passion serves as a way to inspire everyday women to become strong and healthy and active! “I love helping people to achieve things through CrossFit they never thought possible – that look on an athletes face when they get their first push-up or pull-up is the reason I love coaching!”

    Along with being a kickass coach who loves supporting her crew and community, Lynda is revered for her impressive grunt when moving heavy weight – She denies this unequivocally:)

    QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

    • CrossFit Level 1

    Lisa joined CrossFit Jozi in 2012, “I drove past the CrossFit Jozi sign most days, and after reading an article about what CrossFit was about, I joined the trial class.  At the time, it was one of the toughest things I’d done, but I had such a good time doing it that I signed up for more.”

    Lisa has always been active, she was a ballet dancer, played hockey and ran track and cross-country events at school but found in CrossFit a challenge she’d never experienced before.  Lisa loves how the increase in physical capability that CrossFit provides, translates into a positive outlook on life and the ability to succeed in anything you care to apply yourself to. Sharing these lessons and being able to contribute towards a member’s journey into a strong, confident athlete is what makes her excited about coaching.

    Lisa’s favourite part of CrossFit is the Olympic lifts and spends most Saturdays with the Barbell Club working on the endless technicalities of the movements.

  • Zuleikha Cajee

    • BA Law Degree (Major in Psychology)

    • CrossFit Gymnastics

    When Zuleikha completed her tertiary studies the only thing she knew she wanted to do, was to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Towards the end of completing her studies, an honours degree in Psychology, Zuleikha was introduced to CrossFit. She had found love and a passion in CrossFit, and coaching just became a natural progression from her journey to becoming an athlete.

    She found a way to make a difference in people’s lives and absolutely loves every minute of making that difference! Zuleikha is a Coach at CrossFit Jozi, and equal parts CrossFit clown and crash test dummy. She is well known for being CrossFit Jozi’s clumsiest. She is however, very capable of taking care of other people, she promises!!!
